Microscopic Features

Spores ellipsoidal, smooth, dextrinoid, cyanophilic (10-14) x (6-8) µm2. Basidia clavate, four spored. Hyphal system monomitic. C. arida var suffocata has encrusted basal hyphae.

Notes

C. puteana, which is very similar, has non dextrinoid spores.
